Function: Designed using Apollo space suit technology, the Mobile Biological Isolation System was designed to help children suffering from immune deficiencies. The suit provided an artificial sterile environment allowing the wearer to leave permanent isolations units and explore the larger world. The first suit was delivered to a young boy name David in 1977. The suit allowed him to travel outside of his home for the first time in his life. Suits were also designed for use by young cancer patients whose immune systems had been compromised in an effort to fight their cancer.
